Advanced Career Technologies Survey: 77% of Failed Job Seekers Say They Flunked Interviews

New York, NY "When we surveyed 2500 people who had been in the job market for over a year, 77% stated they had not done well in interviews. And these are figures for people seeking jobs at $50,000+." Best selling author Robert J. Gerberg referred to the survey details in his latest book, The Professional Job Changing System, available hardcover in bookstores nationwide. "Too many people take interviewing for granted," he contends. "They never think about it from an employer's viewpoint, and don't fully appreciate that there are other good candidates. Nine of every 10 job seekers need 17 or more interviews to close a single offer. Worse yet, many come away with no offers at all."

"The sad truth is, it's not very difficult to learn and use some time-tested approaches that would improve their chances dramatically. The advice in this book is based on thousands of cases where people won offers because they interviewed so well. The basic principles haven't changed. I share with readers six easy- to-follow rules. Two of the basics are learning how to tell memorable stories, and how to surface and handle an interviewer's concerns diplomatically, building rapport in the process."

"The book lists about 60 questions people need to be ready for, and gives examples of how to smoothly handle many of them. Readers will also learn how to adjust their delivery and behavior to the interviewer's personality style and some simple methods for building positive chemistry. "There are also 20 other tips job seekers will find helpful."

"This book helps them prepare in a short time, and this really builds people's confidence. But it's not just about interviewing. It covers everything from how to write superior resumes and letters and how to access both the published and unpublished markets, to how you can get exposure to 85% of the jobs right for you, not the standard 3%. It has hundreds of insights on job changing you won't find anywhere else. It can be very discouraging to be out there alone in today's job market, but with all that's in this book people will feel they have a mentor guiding them every step of the way. It's comforting."
