Advanced Career Technologies Study: 60% of Job Seekers at $50,000+ Stop Job Search After Three Months
New York, NY — "You can't blame people, it's easy to get discouraged." So says Robert J. Gerberg, best selling author. "The average person doesn't understand the job market today, or what's required to succeed. They do a lot of things wrong — make fatal mistakes — and almost always fail to do enough. That's why my latest book, The Professional Job Changing System, teaches them about the new market and guides them precisely on everything they need to do to succeed. They need to understand, it's a rare form of competition where they never really see the playing field or their competitors."
"It might surprise you, given how important it is, but few people prepare properly. Their resumes don't show how they can contribute and at what level. They aren't memorable and seldom sell the transferable skills and personal strengths so essential today. Few people even know even the basic principles for successful interviewing, even though they are up against others who are likely as talented as they are. Most important, they get exposure to just 3% on average of the openings suitable for them. And many of them never get beyond the 200-to-1 shot arena of answering ads."
"People need to understand, they have to market themselves. Yes they need to network, answer ads and contact recruiters. But they've got to do those things in large numbers — to carefully targeted situations. And since at least half of the good jobs will be uncovered in the unpublished market, they need to be active there, contacting decision makers in their best targets in just the right way, capitalizing on events that let them know about emerging jobs before they become competitive, and networking in more effective ways."
"The book teaches them how to do all of these things in whatever time they have to devote to the job search, which often is limited. It's geared to make a job search easier and faster, but it also shows why you need not get discouraged if you haven't won a great job in three months. People can easily get it in hard cover at bookstores nationwide."
